The integral forming and split forming of the carbon steel head are two methods of head processing. The integral forming process mainly includes stamp forming and spin forming, as well as explosive forming, air pressure expansion forming, etc, which are rarely used. The integral forming can be divided into cold working and hot working according to the processing temperature. Hot spinning, hot stamping, cold spinning, cold stamping, and drum forming are combined by processing and temperature. Hot spin forming is a combination of hot working and spinning. Stamping is generally used for standard series heads, but for non-standard series heads or large diameter heads, usually using spinning forming. Compared to stamping forming, spinning forming can save on mold costs and the size can be adjusted according to requirements.
Generally, the spinning head adopts cold spinning, but it is difficult to use cold spinning when the thickness of the head is thick or the material strength is high. For the seal head at the edge of the capacity limit of the cold spinning equipment, if cold spinning is used, such as material delamination and surface microcracking may occur; cold spinning over the capacity range cannot be processed. At this time, it can be processed by a hot spinning method. Hot spinning processing, using flame spray heating, because it is necessary to leave the processing and heating position, the insulation equipment can not be completely enclosed, the effect is far less than the furnace heating. Therefore the temperature is not uniform, which will inevitably lead to organizational inconsistency. At the same time, the results of different heads sealing processes are different. Therefore, the carbon steel and the general austenitic stainless steel head which are normalized in the original state need to be renormalized or solution treated after the hot spinning.
